Beware of the Week 14 BYEs

A lot of fantasy leagues have generally started their playoffs in week 14 of the NFL season. Doing so this year is problematic because there are 6 teams that have a BYE in week 14 (Atlanta, Chicago, Green Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, and Washington).

The saving grace of the predicament is that in 2021 the NFL expanded their season by one game, so there are now 18 weeks to schedule your season around. This is going to be an easy fix for most leagues: Simply start your playoffs in week 15 instead of week 14.

This simplified formula likely won’t work for every league, but just consider this a friendly reminder to review your league’s fantasy schedule: both regular season and playoffs. League Schedules are an easy setting to dismiss as a commissioner each year, but this season make sure to take the time to review yours before it’s too late.
