Fantasy Football Podcasts - Hidden Treasures

If you’ve ever searched for a list of “Best Fantasy Football Podcasts”, you’ll notice it’s almost always the usual suspects. However, there are some real gems out there that you may have not considered, or even knew existed.

We’ve invested a lot of time listening to almost every Pod out there, and to be honest, most of them can become redundant in what they have to offer. It’s usually a few “experts” with no real inside knowledge, giving their rankings and opinions of who is going to be good each year.

Here are three shows that offer up something different, and that we at FanDraft listen to religiously:

Commission Impossible

Commission Impossible

If you are a fantasy football commissioner, this is a must-listen/subscribe, as it’s a show fully dedicated to commissioning leagues. Hosted by Scott Fish and Ryan McDowell, who are industry stalwarts with a ridiculous amount of professional experience commissioning leagues. They’ve seen it all, and provide fantastic ideas and advice to listeners hoping to improve their fantasy leagues. The episodes are also evergreen, so there’s a huge backlog of always relevant shows worthy of catching up on.

PFF Fantasy Football

PFF Fantasy Football Podcast with Ian Hartitz

This is the standard fantasy football news and analysis format, however, it’s backed with theory and cutting-edge supportive stats that the PFF brand is known for. We love this one because Ian and his guests give concise news rundowns and insights that are backed up with data, as opposed to many fantasy podcasts that are purely opinion-based.

Around the NFL

Around the NFL

The Around the NFL crew of Dan Hanzus, Gregg Rosenthal, and Marc Sessler break down the latest football news, with a dash of mirth. That’s how it’s promoted by the NFL, and it’s a pretty accurate description. This show has been around for years, but is getting more recognition as Hanzus (aka “The Zeuser”) has started to gain a lot more presence on the NFL Network.

This is a great listen for fantasy owners, even though it’s not about fantasy football — it’s pure NFL. As a fantasy owner, I like to know the current news, but I want to come up with my own fantasy theories based on the news and happenings in the NFL, as opposed to being given them by the so-called “fantasy experts”. This show provides that news and insider access, as well as a large amount of entertainment to boot.
