FANDRAFT 2022 〰️ Now available 〰️

Every off-season we work to improve the FanDraft application, adding new features and/improvements with the goal of constantly delivering a better draft experience. There is always a theme of what gets focused on during this time. Back in the desktop days, there were years solely dedicated to improving the graphic experience, and in other years the goal was to implement as many new fun features as possible. Two years ago when the pandemic hit, we transitioned all of our attention making the product a fully online platform. And last year, we aimed to expand the platform to include most (if not all) of the features that once existed prior to the online transition.

The 2022 Improvement Focus

This off-season our focus theme has been on “refinement”. There were many areas of the online platform that needed polishing, whether it be improving portions of the UI to provide better clarity, or simply improving on minor flaws that existed in the execution of some of the features. One of the biggest inclusions this year was building out mobile compatibility. Many of you have a few owners who want/need to be able to draft remotely from a phone or mobile device, and we’re happy to have greatly improved this aspect of FanDraft.

There is a lot of focus on polishing the platform this year, but we also made sure to include a few new features to increase the fun. There is now an ability to customize some sound effects, which I’m sure many leagues will be able to creatively add some moments of fun during their draft. We also added a new “The Pick Is In” feature, which can further make your draft feel like the actual NFL draft.

The Roadmap / More Improvements to Come

We’ll be continuing to improve the platform throughout the summer, so make sure to stay tuned. We also recently launched a specific FanDraft community area, where you can submit your own feature requests, and even comment and vote on other user submissions: You can check that out here!

We’re very excited for this season and think that you’ll really love all the latest improvements, which we listed below:

  • Added mobile-friendly compatibility

  • New “Draft Date” feature, which allows users to set a date/time for the draft, and a reminder will go out to remote users on draft day.

  • Ability to import your own Custom SFX for use in the draft.

  • Major improvements to the "Share Draft Results" page for Auction drafts.

  • Improvements to the “Auto Draft” algorithm

  • Added an in-draft “Keeper On the Fly” tool, to better handle Compensatory picks.

  • A new “Pick Is In…” feature, which will play an audio notification and show a “Pick Is In…” text graphic once a player has been prepared for selection.

  UI Improvements

  • “Commissioner Mode” is now defaulted to “on” for all Admin users.

  • Minor updates to MFL Integration

  • Increased size of logo for “team on deck” in the draft room.

  • PreDraft: “Keepers” area only appears for leagues that use keepers. Increased size of team logo and owner image.

  • Improved clarity to display if remote/invited owners are already joined in league, and how to provide instructions for these owners to log in again.

  • Major improvements to the end-of-draft “Report Card”

  • Addition of an informational “alert” for users who use Apple Music Integration, and aren’t logged into their Apple Music account prior to their draft.

  • Major improvements to the "Share Draft Results" page for Auction drafts.

  • “Copy Settings” from prior year, now includes PreDraft notes.

  • More visible (easier access) to “Reset Draft” tool.

  Bug Fixes

  • Fixed bug with Auction Draft “Change Nominator” tool, which would not properly show the logo of the new team nominating.

  • Fixed bug that would set the default cell colors to black when adding new positions for use.
