THE FANDRAFT BLOG
Tips, Announcements, and Fantasy News
Some fantasy leagues do not run a draft in just one format. Instead, they use what is often called a Hybrid Combo Draft / Half-and-Half Draft.
In this setup, part of the roster is built through an auction, and the rest is filled through a traditional draft. For example, a league might let every team buy 4 players in an auction, then complete the remaining roster spots through a standard snake or ordered draft.
Start/Bench has previously been mentioned on the FanDraft blog as an in-season fantasy football tool created by FanDraft to help owners make smarter weekly lineup decisions.
Now, Start/Bench also offers a preseason resource built to help fantasy football owners prepare for draft day: Draft Rankings.

In the past, we’ve mentioned 100 Yard Rush as a fun, simple, and completely free option for commissioners who want something more entertaining than drawing names out of a hat. It lets your league owners race across the screen, with the final results determining your draft order.
A new alternative that recently launched is Fantasy Draft Rumble.

Below are some detailed highlights of a few of these new additions…
Some auction league’s don’t require owners to spend all of their auction dollars or have a required Roster Size for owners to fill. This tool was made especially for the commissioners of league’s with these rules.
When the draft nears the end, many of us commissioners have an experience where owners are requesting quick changes of the Player Board positions.
As the chill in the air gives way to the warmer breezes of spring, the excitement for the upcoming fantasy baseball season starts to build.
We just added a new “Position Board” display board, which shows a breakdown of teams and how many of each position they have selected.
Combo Drafts are a style of drafting where you begin as an Auction format, and then at some point in the draft switch to a Regular style of draft.
Earlier this year we improved the readability of traded picks by assigning different colors for each team name, which show when there are traded picks on the draft board.
The Admin Commish can now give remote owners the ability to edit their team name, logo, and owner image.
The commissioner can now go to the Audio/Video setup area to change the voice used for the Voice Announcer.
This mobile friendly view was created with the remote user in mind, and even more specifically those that are drafting on a phone.
At FanDraft, we understand that there are alternative draft board options available. Certain leagues rely on paper draft boards, while others utilize their league management platform's draft room. Nevertheless, Commissioners who desire an exceptional draft party experience opt for FanDraft because it delivers an experience like none other.
We just released a new tool for commissioners that will display an informational announcement message to all users. This is especially useful when remote drafters need info but they aren’t looking at the chat area.
As a fantasy football commissioner, your first job is to bring the league together and create an unforgettable draft day experience, and it all starts with a well-organized process of deciding a day to hold your draft.
The earlier you start this process the better, as people’s calendars will start filling up early without a “Save the Date”. Finding a tool to help with this process will save you (the Commish) a lot of time and headaches.
When it comes to your live fantasy football draft, one of the most important aspects is choosing the right draft board. There are numerous options available, each offering different price ranges, features, and functionalities.
It’s never too early to start planning your fantasy football draft party. Below are 5 essential tips and tricks to ensure a successful event.
The vast majority of fantasy football Super Bowls were disrupted last year, after the halting and eventual cancelation of the Bengals vs Bills week 17 game. Leagues and commissioners were scrambling on how to deal with the situation because most of us (including myself) didn’t have a rule in place to ultimately decide on how to deal with the situation.
We’re excited to announce that FanDraft is now available for sports beyond fantasy football! Starting today, FanDraft will now be offering support for fantasy baseball, fantasy basketball, and fantasy hockey. All of these new additions have the same amazing features as our flagship FanDraft Football product, but now available for use in these new fantasy sports.
